[VISC101] Project 3 - Typography
Best of Jury Fall 2023
For my Design Fundamentals class, we were tasked with creating a unique typeface following a unified theme of our choosing. The theme I chose was "pirate adventure". When drawing inspirations, I looked for symbols related to romanticized piracy and tried to relate them to existing letterforms. Some of the letters took some creative finagling to figure out what I could use to represent the letter, especially as I wanted to focus on a more glyphic font and avoid shapes that aren't contributing to the overall theme.

During our design process, we were tasked to create full-color sketches to demonstrate our letterforms. This is a sample of those sketches. Some letterforms changed in small or drastic ways before the final piece.
